New Year, New Me

Can you believe it?! It's 2021! Give yourself a high-five for surviving 2020 - let’s be honest, we were all ready to move on!

Without further ado, we have created a 5 point list to help you start 2021. These 5 things will save you time throughout the year AND simplify your lifestyle.

  1. Organize Holiday Decor (the RIGHT way - yes, there's a wrong way!) - It’s sad seeing your holiday decorations go, but this year let’s make sure to put them up the proper way! You may think it’ll be easier to just throw everything into plastic bins and store it in your attic for next year, but why not try giving some organization to your storage system? Check out our favorite holiday storage items to minimize stress of unpacking a messy box next Christmas!

  2. Get Your Entire Family on a Calendar System - With a new year comes a new calendar! This January, set up a calendar system the whole family can follow. This will help keep everyone informed of the day’s activities, plus keep you from wanting to pull your hair out when *cough* someone *cough* acts like they didn’t know you had dinner plans Saturday. If you need some help deciding which system is best (Paper vs. Digital Sharing) and how to implement - we offer Virtual Life Consultations - reach out to us for details!

  3. Declutter ONE Drawer - Decluttering can seem like an overwhelming task. There’s so many places to start that it can leave you doing nothing. Take it one step at a time and this month, just organize one drawer in your home. Nothing fancy, nothing big. Just one drawer. You can do it!! You might even decide to set a schedule for cleaning out the rest of your drawers (one per week, maybe?)

  4. Establish ONE New Routine in Your Daily Life - Routines keep you on track. Sure, they may seem like a small action, but they can move the needle a LOT in terms of productivity and simplicity. This January, start by establishing one new routine. It could be something as simple as making your bed every morning or setting aside time each night to plan for the next day. Whatever it is, a routine will help you stay organized.

  5. Write Down 3 Areas of Chaos in Your Life + Make a Plan to Eliminate It - Is getting the kids ready each morning (clean, fed, and packed for school) a hassle? Are you constantly scrambling to make a homecooked meal before bedtime? Just pick 3 areas of your life that are chaotic and write them down. NOW brainstorm ways that you could eliminate this chaos. If you are stumped at how to eliminate the chaos, contact us for a Virtual Life Consultation and together we can create a plan of attack!

Once you’ve done these five things, you’ll be ready to conquer the new year organized!! At Stored Simply, we’re ready to help you make 2021 the best year yet! Let us help you implement sustainable organization methods in your home and life, that are tailored to YOU!
